We believe that sharing the theatre with youngsters can be a life-changing experience, but some shows are more family friendly than others. Our guidelines below can give you a general idea of what might be appropriate, but you know your child best. Generally, if your child can pay attention to a full-length movie at the cinema, he or she will probably enjoy a theatrical event. Many shows suggest no children under the age of 4. All children must have a ticket, regardless of age.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Roald Dahl’s treasured tale is the perfect recipe for a delectable treat: songs from the original film, including “Pure Imagination,” “The Candy Man” and “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket,” alongside a toe-tapping and ear-tickling new score from the songwriters of Hairspray. Children will delight in the world of Willy Wonka. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is recommended for ages 6+.

The Play That Goes Wrong

This show will delight audiences of all ages with its silly antics and madcap comedy. This smash comedy is a classic murder mystery gone awry, chock full of mishaps and madcap mania. The show does feature a scantily clad character as part of the humor, but in general kids and adults alike will adore this fun-filled play.

Rent

A re-imagining of Puccini's La Bohème, Rent follows an unforgettable year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams without selling out. With its inspiring message of joy and hope in the face of fear, this timeless celebration of friendship and creativity reminds us to measure our lives with the only thing that truly matters—love. Rent is a story which addresses adult themes and controversial issues. Parental guidance is suggested. It is not recommended for children under 13.

Fiddler on the Roof

This new product brings a fresh take on a beloved masterpiece to life. Rich with musical hits you know and love, including "Tradition;" "Sunrise, Sunset;' "If I Were A Rich Man;' and "Matchmaker, Matchmaker", this new production is appropriate for most ages.

Hamilton

Hamilton is the story of America's Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, Hamilton is the story of America then, as told by America now. Hamilton is appropriate for ages 10+, as there is some strong language.

On Your Feet!

On Your Feet! tells the stofy of Emilio and Gloria Estefan, from their humble beginnings in Cuba to breaking through all barriers to become a sensation at the top of the pop music world. On Your Feet! is a family-friendly show, but there are a few moments containing strong language.

Miss Saigon

The epic story of a young Vietnamese woman named Kim. In a bar run by a notorious character called The Engineer, Kim meets an American G.I. That encounter will change their lives forever. Miss Saigon contains some scenes and language which may not be suitable for younger audience members, including scenes of a sexual nature. Miss Saigon is recommended for ages 12+.

Dear Evan Hansen

All his life, Evan Hansen has felt invisible. But when a tragedy thrusts him into the center of a rapidly evolving controversy, he is given the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to be somebody else. The show has some strong language and deals with serious and sensitive issues faced by adolescents. Dear Evan Hansen is recommended for ages 12+.

Cats

Audiences and critics alike are rediscovering this beloved musical with breathtaking music, including one of the most treasured songs in musical theater—"Memory”. Children will be transfixed by the human-size felines that interact with the audience throughout the show.
