Romantic Thriller Ghost the Musical Begins Performances in Cincinnati

Have a tissue handy, because the national tour of Ghost the Musical opens in Cincinnati on September 24. The musical, based on the hit 1990 film, will play the Procter & Gamble Hall at the Aronoff Center for the Arts through October 6.

A musical staging of the beloved movie that starred Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze and Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg, Ghost follows a young couple, Sam and Molly, who are mugged while walking home to their New York apartment. Sam is murdered and becomes trapped in this world as a ghost, unable to leave Molly, whom he learns is in grave danger. With the help of a storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, Sam tries to communicate with Molly from beyond in hopes of protecting her.

The show stars Steven Grant Douglas as Sam, Katie Postotnik as Molly, Carla R. Stewart as Oda Mae and Robby Haltiwanger as Carl Bruner.

The musical is directed by Matthew Warchus and features a score by David Stewart and Glen Ballard with a book by Bruce Joel Rubin, who won an Academy Award for his screenplay of the film. The show also features the classic song from the movie, “Unchained Melody,” by the Righteous Brothers.
