Buddy and His Friends Spread Holiday Cheer as National Tour of Elf Opens in Cincinnati

Curtain Up 12/02/14

The national tour of Elf opens in Cincinnati on December 2. The holiday musical will play Procter & Gamble Hall - Aronoff Center for the Arts through December 7.

Based on the 2003 film of the same name, Elf is the story of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Raised among Santa's elves, Buddy is unaware that he’s actually human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. To find his true identity, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City.

The show stars Daniel Patrick Smith as Buddy the Elf, Daryn Harrell as Jovie, D. Scott Withers as Walter, Allison Mickelson as Emily, Audra Qualley as Deb, Travis Mitchell as Mr. Greenway, Mark Fishback as Santa and Arthur L. Ross as Store Manager. Young actors Benjamin Elias Harding and Shane Treloar share the role of Michael.

Featuring music by Matthew Sklar, a book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin and lyrics by Chad Beguelin, Elf also features scenic design by David Rockwell, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Natasha Katz and sound design by Peter Hylenski. The show is directed by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon).
