We believe that sharing the theatre with youngsters can be a life-changing experience, but some shows are more family friendly than others. Our guidelines below can give you a general idea of what might be appropriate, but you know your child best. If you have questions or want to talk further about any show’s content, just call us at 800.294.1816.

CHICAGO

Devilish and delightful, CHICAGO is a Broadway landmark that utilizes very minimal scenery and simple costumes to deliver one big musical bang after another. With one great showstopper after the next, the score keeps the story moving at a gunshot pace. The scantily-clad dancers perform iconic Fosse choreography, which is still as steamy and sexy today as it was when CHICAGO first appeared in 1975. Although it’s simple in its presentation, kids who appreciate Broadway will certainly respond to the exciting theatricality of this hit show. Parents should be warned of the show’s hot topics, including murder, violence and adultery, as well as some off-color dialogue. Recommended for ages 13 and up. Parents should note that the show includes discussions on moral issues like slavery, and while there are moments of sadness, the feeling at the end of the performance is one of hopefulness and understanding. Recommended for children 8 and up. For more information, please visit the show's website.
